Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder (born Winona Laura Hornowitz) was born in Winona Minnesota. The parents of her daughter named her in honor of her hometown. Michel Horowitz' father was editor and author along with Cynthia Palmer and her mother. Ryder's father is from a Jewish family Ryder considers herself Jewish. Her half-siblings are younger, Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder's parents moved her and their children to Mendocino County California when Ryder reached seven. In those days, there wasn't electricity. Ryder was a voracious read because they had no television. In 1983 when she was 12 Ryder enrolled in the American Conservatory Theatre to take acting classes. In 1986 she was offered her first big-screen role in the film Lucas she was only fifteen years old. Ryder was bullied throughout high school. Her acting career, she hoped that it would aid her. However, it didn't come pass. Still, she kept chasing the dreams she had. Beetlejuice the 1988 Tim Burton film, was her debut big breakthrough. Ryder continued playing roles that were successful in various films. Ryder was nominated twice for Academy Awards one for her performance on The Age of Innocence (1993).
